The|The actual|The particular|Your|This} Canterbury area has become inhabited since prehistoric instances. Lower Paleolithic axes, and Neolithic and also Bronze Age group pots are found in the region. Canterbury was recorded as the main settlement on the Celtic group, the Cantiaci, which inhabited most of modern evening Kent. Inside 1st centuries AD, the actual Romans captured the settlement, and called it Durovernum Cantiacorum, meaning “stronghold in the Cantiaci through the alder grove”. The Romans rebuilt town, with new streets in the grid pattern, a theatre, a temple, a discussion board and open baths. Inside the late third century, to shield against invasion from barbarians, the Romans built throughout the city an earth bank and a wall together with seven entrances, which enclosed a space of 130 massive areas.
