Canterbury area has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Lower Paleolithic axes, and Neolithic along with Bronze Era pots happen to be found in the community. Canterbury was recorded for the reason that main settlement from the Celtic tribe, the Cantiaci, which inhabited the majority of modern time Kent. Within the 1st hundred years AD, this Romans captured the arrangement, and named it Durovernum Cantiacorum, meaning “stronghold with the Cantiaci because of the alder grove”. The Romans rebuilt town, with fresh streets in the grid design, a cinema, a forehead, a discussion board and general public baths. Inside the late third century, to shield against invasion from barbarians, the Romans built round the city the earth bank plus a wall together with seven entrances, which enclosed an area of 130 miles.
